Sangdong Sansuyu Village

Gurye produces over 67% of Korea��s Sansuyu trees. The trees begin to flower mid-February, and from mid-March to the beginning of April, the beautiful yellow color of the flowers are in full display. The trees bear crimson ruby-like fruit in October, offering a magnificent sight to all visitors.

The Sansuyu Blossom Festival celebrates the Sansuyu flowers which bloom around the Jirisan Mountains every March.

The festival provides an opportunity for participants to greet nature��s renewal of Spring and enjoy various entertaining and meaningful activities.

The Cheoneunsa Region

Befitting Gurye��s special tourist region status, the 1,800,000m�� area of the Jirisan Hot Spring Land includes hot springs, a hotel and lodgings, an exhibition center for youth, thrill rides, a rest area, a convenience store and various other facilities.

Surak Falls

Surak Falls is a 15m wonder boasting a wondrous scene like falling silver dust from the sky. It is a popular summer spot, offering visitors an oasis from the heat with its refreshing water, which is also said to have healing properties for nervous and muscle pain. Furthermore, this location is also well known as the training place for the nationally recognized father of dongpyungjae-style pansori, Man-gap Song.

Simwon Village

Despite the fact that 78% of Gurye��s villages are located in the mountains, Simwon Village, located 750 meters above the water level, is known as the highest neighborhood below the sky. As home to only approximately 10 households as well as a tourist farm, it is a popular destination for many tourists.

Jirisan Water Leisure Town

Occupying an area of 500,000m��, the Jirisan Water Leisure Town is an expansive locale surrounded by forest and water. It is the perfect leisure tourism spot for the summer, providing various activities such as water skiing, motorboating, duck boating, and jet skiing.
